I purchased a refurbished model directly from SimplyGlobo for 17.99 with free shipping. It took almost 2 weeks to arrive, about one week longer/after the expected date via usps tracking. Firstly let me state the directions that come with this item are pathetic and ultimately of no use. The English makes me believe this item was manufactured or made somewhere in Asia. It will take some time figuring out how to use and navigate around or do what you want. The menu and configurations are rather moronic and difficult even for a technically savy individual to figure out. What makes this item interesting is the features: fm radio, recorder, ability to play via sd card, usb, and via aux it can be used as a speaker for your pc, laptop, phone or mp3 player. Again, the navigation and curve to learning how to use this device might test some people's patience. This player is very small and only has 2 watts of power so do not expect much in terms of high fidelity sound. From an sd card the quality is quite good. This is a very interesting gadget for electronics buffs such as myself and for 17.99 it is a good deal. Overall I am somewhat disappointed as it simply doesn't live up to my expectations. The bottom line is it's great as a portable sd card player but the sound is not very loud, and while compact it is still rather bulky to be used with headphones as an mp3 player. As a simple speaker it is an upgrade over your stock laptop speakers but with all the features this unit has it would be pointless to use this for such a simple purpose. Overall I like what this unit possibly delivers but due to the inept menu configuration, low power quality (again , with good sound though) and horrible directions, out of the box it is not what it could have been. Will probably end up in a drawer somewhere.
