I had been looking for a while for a small, portable speaker that would play MP3 files and have an FM Radio built-in, and something without an Ipod connector. I do not own an Ipod and don't plan on buying one. My extensive search led me to this product, but first I read all the reviews on Amazon for SimplyVibe's other portable speakers, and it seems like they stand behind their products and warranty, which was important to me. Since there are few reviews for this model, I decided to offer my opinion on this versatile player.
It only took me a few minutes to unbox it and have it playing. I inserted a standard MicroSD card full of MP3s into the back of the unit and started playing right away. There is a bit of a learning curve with the menu interface, but once you get the hang of it, it is not too difficult to remember how to control the various functions. Now, for the most important attribute - the sound quality. In short, it is spectacular for a unit this size! Once you get past about 50% volume, the sound seems to become fuller and richer. I turned on the DSP Bass in the settings, and it really helps boost the bass to decent levels, although it won't blow you away. The speakers are not large enough to push the air volume to give you true deep bass, but for the size it is quite amazing. Since this particular model is Stereo, there is a decent amount of separation in the playback, enhancing the experience.
Overall, it has a nice hefty, quality feel to it, and it doesn't seem light or cheap. The two front-firing 40mm (1.57") speakers are ported in the rear of the unit, so if you put it near a wall or place a solid object behind it, you will get a bit fuller sound. The speaker grilles are a metal mesh, and the cabinet is a high-impact plastic in gloss black. The ends/sides of the unit are a different type of plastic, with a matte finish. The bottom of the unit has a wide rubber strip along the entire length, so it won't slide off a table when playing. The blue backlit display shows all data on the song playing, and also scrolls the title and artist during playback. However, the scroll speed is very slow and most likely the backlight will turn off before you are able to read the entire title. You can change the backlight timer in system settings, up to 30 seconds - which may still not be enough time if the song title is long. Supposedly, the unit will also display lyrics (assuming you put them into the MP3 tag) but I can't see how this could work with the short backlight time. I haven't tested this feature to verify this, however. The display window is misleading, observing it before you power the unit on. The window itself is a generous 6cm (2.5") but the actual display size is much, much smaller - about 2.5cm (1"). It can be a bit hard to read - especially for anyone like me, with less than perfect vision. If I had to recommend one improvement to the manufacturer, it would be to increase the screen size to the full 2.5" that is available in the display window. Another big improvement would be to use an LCD that doesn't require a backlight, so it could stay on all the time while playing. Having a built-in clock in this unit is almost useless, because of the backlight issue. The functionality could be increased greatly by just changing the display.
The battery that comes with this model is a standard 3.7v/1050MaH Nokia camera battery (BL-5C) which you can find on some some Chinese deal sites for as low as $2.00, if you need longer play time. Keep a spare on hand, and just swap it out when one is dead. The included battery was fully charged when I got the unit, and I've been playing it off and on for several days, as much as 2 hours at a time, and the battery isn't even halfway depleted. It feels like it'll play forever, if you keep the volume to a reasonable level (30 - 50%). I can't really comment on how long the battery lasts yet, as I haven't been able to drain it even one time. I will most likely use a wall adapter to charge the player, as it will charge faster with more current than what is supplied from your computer's USB port. Maybe I will buy a separate Nokia battery charger and extra battery, for all day playing.
I have not been able to verify if the FM is Stereo or not, since this is not mentioned in the specs on the manufacturer's website. There is no FM Stereo indicator on the display, and when holding the unit up to my head (for maximum separation) I cannot hear any L/R separation at all. I am going to assume the FM is Mono, if someone else can verify this, please correct me if I'm wrong. The FM reception is adequate, but can fade and become noisy at times. The unit would benefit from a small monopole pull-out antenna in later models. The instruction manual recommends using the included input wire as an antenna. In my opinion, this is not a good or practial solution. Who wants to carry around a unit with with a wire dangling from the back, just to get decent FM reception? That definitely takes away from the "coolness" factor.
Operation Note: To navigate to another folder, you have to press the Play/Pause button once during play (to pause the player). While in pause mode, press the Menu button for about one second three times in a row until you see the folder list. Then use the Volume Down (or Up) to navigate to the folder you want. Then to select that folder for play, press the Menu button one time, and use the Volume Down (anything below "Root", represented by the backslash symbol [\]) and select any song in that folder, then press the Menu button one more time to confirm/play that song. The player will then begin to play the entire folder starting with the song you selected. If you want to play the entire folder, just select the first song in the list. It's very important not to wait more than two or three seconds each time you press the buttons, because if you take too long it will revert back to the main screen and the song that was playing previously. Also, if you do not select a song during the process, the same thing will happen. You will then have to repeat this process. It would be another major improvement to have a dedicated "Folder Select" button that would take you directly to the folder menu.

Bottom Line:
This ia a nice sounding, high quality, low priced MP3/FM player. The small cons I noted are not enough in my opinion to take off any stars. You won't use it to blast at a party, but this unit is great at a small picnic, or as a table redio, bathroom radio, or any use where very high volume isn't necessary. I haven't found any other units on the market like this one, with all the same features and low price. I highly recommend it.
